Salt Lake City, Utah is home to some of the most exciting and challenging mountain biking trails nestled in the heart of the Wasatch Mountains. There are plenty of trails to choose from for all skill sets. Salt Lake mountain bike trails range from flow to tech or steep and loose you will have lots of fun all within 20 minutes of downtown. If you are looking for a wider range of trails, check out Park City.
Below you will see some links and photos of some of my favorite trails in the area.
Bobsled: Rated as a Black this trail is OG for the area. with a mix of drops and jumps over some old cars with big banking berms this trail is always a great time. its about a 6 mile loop starting up dry creek and has about 1200 +/- vertical feet of climbing. There is a way to cut some miles off if you have a way to shuttle. Terris hill drive has access to the area and make it more of a 3 mile adventure
Lost Lad: Rated a blue this little trail has some smaller jumps and tight handling corners in trees and gully down at the bottom. The downside is that the climb is rough. its on an exposed fire road that has some steep loose sections. Very popular trail for eBikes but don’t let that deter you from getting up there because its always a good time coming down.
Big Mountain Trail: This trail is located up at Snowbird, Starting out at 11,000 feet it has some amazing views. About a 3,000 foot climb is tough but manageable, I prefer going up the Alta road and around the backside. this trail has sweet tech, flow, and line choices down in the trees. Best time to go is during Oktoberfest. You’ll over pay for brats and beer sure, but the views and biking are worth it.
Other great trails to check out.
Corner Canyon is located is Draper Utah lots of sandy trails but a good system with some jumps, flow, and great single track for all skill levels.
The Farm and Fruit Loops are located north of SLC about 25 minutes away. Great jump lines and easy berms. Awesome for early and late season riding since the snow melts fast in the area.
I Street Best place in the valley for after work jumps, drops and fun. Everyone here is just stoked to ride Most of the time there’s a pro or a 10 yr old that just shreads and its fun to watch them.
